Consolidated methodology
A single methodology merging several related versions or variants to reduce fragmentation.
Over time a project category accumulates many methodologies and revisions. Consolidation merges them so that comparable projects are judged by the same rules.
The benefit is comparability; the cost is transition. Projects operating under an older version must migrate, and the migration rules determine whether previously issued credits remain consistent with current requirements.
Frequently asked questions
Do consolidated rules apply retroactively?
Usually from a stated date, with grandfathering provisions for existing projects.
Why does consolidation matter to buyers?
It makes the underlying quality assumptions of two credits comparable.
